Lightweight, standalone file explorer

Having a ton of options doesn't necessarily make a program better. Sometimes all you need is a minimalist app that does its job simply, without bells and whistles.

This is precisely what Snowbird is: a stripped-down file management tool you can use instead of the default Windows File Explorer. As it doesn't require installation, Snowbird is perfect to carry on your USB memory device for use on any computer.

Snowbird's interface includes two main panes, featuring the folder structure on the left side and the contents of the selected folder on the right side. Being a minimalist file explorer, Snowbird doesn't include image preview and has a concise context menu.

On the upside, Snowbird offers support for keyboard shortcuts and mouse gestures, so it's quick and easy to use for both keyboard and mouse fans. It also includes bookmarks for frequently-used folders, shortcuts to the folder structure you're browsing (the so-called 'breadcrumbs') and a built-in search tool that scans the selected drive or folder in search of the keywords you enter.

If you like minimalist apps that get straight to the point without wasting time, Snowbird is the kind of file manager you're looking for.
