The Snowbird app provides real-time chairlift status, including wait times and opening and closing times. Users can also access trail information, such as up-to-date details on trail grooming, openings, and closings. The app also provides real-time weather data, enabling users to see the current weather at the mountain. Additionally, users can track their performance stats, including how many runs they have done, how much vertical they have logged, and more.
The Snowbird app also allows users to find and track their friends on the trails. Users can create their own private group to stay connected with friends on the trails. They can see exactly what trail each person in their group is on as well as their current location on the resort map. The app also allows users to send location-aware messages to their group using the quick messages feature. When users see the “#” in their quick message, their location will automatically be dropped into the message.
Note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
